The difference between a strike and a boycott is the focus of what is being withheald

In a strike the supply is being withheald because the workers aren’t producing whatever it is.  It works by having the masses demand what the companies cannot produce and therefore, if the company wants to continue providing whatever it is in order to continue making money, they have to listen to worker demands

In a boycott the demand is being withheald because the masses aren’t buying or engaging with whatever it is.  It works because companies, obviously, need to actually sell things in order to function.  The point is to make the company change something about a product in order to appeal to the masses again

That’s why you shouldn’t boycott when a strike is on (unless the union says so) because it kind of cancels out the strike.  If there is no demand then witholding supply is meaningless - again, unless the union says so, since that means they factored it into their industrial action plan and believe it would be beneficial

I know people want to help but the reaction to call for a boycott whenever there’s a strike just kind of…… doesn’t

I keep seeing people on Twitter being all "I'm sure they'll be more respectful and mindful of the Quileute tribe this time around."

Except, they won't be. Even if they get actual Native American actors to play these characters, even if they bring on a Native American to serve as a cultural advisor, it wont matter. Why? Because Smeyer appropriated a real Native American tribe and twisted their culture and history in her fantasy books for her own profit.

This fictional Quileute Tribe is and always will be disrespectful to the real life Quileute tribe.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe version of the Paris Promenade track, added in the Booster Course Pass, features two paths through the track. On Lap 1 and Lap 2, the racers drive one way, while on Lap 3, the track changes so that the racers drive backwards relative to the path of the first two laps.

On Lap 3, a new flight ramp appears near the Eiffel Tower that is not present on the first two laps. However, the ramp does not appear for every player, as it is actually in the way of the previous path and would block it. The game accomplishes this by making each racer experience a “personalized reality” where the ramp is only present for those racers who are on Lap 3, while being intangible and invisible for racers on the other laps.

In the footage, the player is on Lap 1 and is witnessing computer players on Lap 3 use the ramp. From the opponents’ perspective, they are driving up the ramp, however, from the perspective of the player whose reality does not include the ramp, the opponents appear to fly into the air instead.

since we are talking about people who deserve a higher salary i think teachers should be making six figures a year btw. if state superintendents who have never set foot in a classroom can make that much so should the teachers. teachers are quite literally the backbone of our society and if teachers were actually properly compensated we wouldn’t have a shortage or bad teachers who are continually burnout because of a lack of proper compensation.

For those that don't know, David Leatherwood is a former official for the anti-trans LGB organization Gays Against Groomers (GAG) who just left because it came out that the leader, Jaimee Michell, of the organization is on DeSantis's payroll and the organization is now essentially acting as an arm of DeSantis's campaign.

In his parting statement, he reiterated he is still extremely anti-trans and anti-drag, "there is a MAJOR difference between regular gay people who love America and Alphabet extremists who push radical woke ideology."

He's still a bigot, still an asshole, and he just shifted from the Leopard's Eating People's Faces Party to the Cheetah's Eating People's Faces Party.

Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
